Wrecking machines with little oversight

Tens of thousands of truckers haul loads across our highways and roads everyday with very little regulation and oversight and tragedy follows them.

The Boston Globe’s outstanding investigative journalism team took a deep dive into a trucking company that “hired a ragtag crew of drivers — criminals and drug users among them, men who drove too fast and partied too hard — and sent them out onto the open road.” This result is not rare and this is not an uncommon situation with trucking companies that often have 100% turn-over each year.
